on training) can be explained by the fact that Akari is also an athletic
'genius' like her super-genius mother, so it isn't just the training that keeps
increasing her rank. Basically its a story about self-realization and
friendships in a futuristic and outrageous/ridiculous athletic context.
Wow this was a great series. I agree with your review for the most part,
although I don't know about the ending being rushed. It was a little ridiculous
in my opinion, but I liked it nonetheless. ^^ It brought the series back full
circle, and gave a solid sense of conclusion without too much finality.

all. I thought animation was decent enough, sound prety mediocre, and
characters.. ehhh so-so.. the characters were very plain and in my opinion most
of them were not well developed.
As for the plot.. boy did i have a problem with the plot. I've seen so many
reviews raving about it so I was expecting something original.... and it turns
out that its one of the most uncomplicated, unoriginal, common plots i have ever
seen. Some people pointed out that it was 'realistic'. This is baffling to me..
since when was good anime plot supposed to be realistic...
Hm... but I'm still trying to figure out why people love it so much..

I watched all of Flame of Recca a few weeks ago.. I agree with many of the
positive aspects you've pointed out.
But I didn't really like it because of several reasons..
there were way too many characters and it had pretty bad character development
in my opinion..
the art was not that great.. i think it changes over the series or something..
the first episode was just not easy on the eye for me but it got
better/different over time.
also, the plot was SO rushed toward the end, with an ending that was hardly an
ending.. at the end you could almost see the studio staff running around
panicking and patching together their last episode.. haha
To what Ky said, DITTO. This anime tries too hard and fails to deliver. It's a low quality substitute for some good live action asian dramas.
As for the review, your ratings are heavily skewed and the descriptions are uninformative. You may want to edit before the review mod gets to it.
